Q. What things have to have a "C" Tick in Australia?
A. Most electrical things- whether mains or battery powered.
Q. Is testing the only way to get a "C" Tick?
A. No, it is not the only way but it is usually the cheapest, quickest way.
Q. Do I need a NATA lab. test?

Q. What about transmitters like garage door remote controls?
A. All transmitters have to comply with the relevant regulations. They should be tested and "C" Ticked.
Q. How long does testing take?
A. At Emc Test Lab we try to test everything within 48 hours of it arriving here. It usually happens within 24 hours.
Q. What things can you test?
A. We test most items providing that they are not bigger than about 500mm cube. The reason for this is that we have a 3m test site and shielded room and the measurement errors on very large objects at 3m are usually not acceptable.
Q. I am interstate or in the country. How can I get things to you?
A. Express post or couriers work well. We give special attention to interstate and country items to make sure that they are tested quickly and despatched promptly back to you.
Q. What do I do if the item fails?
A. There are a number of options- we can usually fix it (for a fee) or we can send it back to you for modification.
Q. Can I come and watch?
A. Yes, of course you can but please make a booking so that we can schedule a test of your item.
Q. I have 10 items to test- is it any cheaper
A. Yes, usually 3 or more similiar items attract a 10% discount and 20% discount for 10 or more.
